No Gimme Jimmy here, to bring you another fire take. So far in this golf season we have seen two 59's. All I hear is how impressive it is to shoot 59 in competition? Really? If it was so impressive we wouldn't have these two dudes doing it in back to back weeks. Please, the media is trying to tell us this is the most impressive feat in golf. Well that is FAKE NEWS
FAKE NEWS I just watched our nations president, and his spokesperson tell us how the media is always lying to us. SO when these guys try to tell me how impressive this is I laugh in their face. If you listened to my boy Johnny Miller, he wouldn't give an ounce of credit to Adam Hadwin, nor should he. Was it a major championship? I don't believe the career builder is or will ever be a major championship. Call me when Adam Hadwin shoots 63 in a major. He also better win this tournament. Shooting 59 and not winning is like winning the majority vote, but not winning the presidency. Now I am going out to protest all the people congratulating Hadwin's 59.

I get to writing my book, hit writers block and grab this book and laugh my ass off. I want to preface this before I say what book it is with this. I have never met Rick Reilly, but I despise him. I can't stand him on twitter and he comes across as the most pompous douche-bag of all time. I am sure he actually caused some people to vote for Trump with some of his shenanigans on twitter. BUT, Rick Reilly is a fantastic writer. His old columns in Sports Illustrated were amazing, and his other golf book Who's Your Caddy is very good also. In that book he actually caddies for president elect Trump and gives a little insight into the dude who is about to run our country. My favorite quote from that, "Trump then gave 100 bill to everyone working on the cart path. As we walked away he said, now they are the Donald Trumps of Chili." Makes me laugh every time, but that is not the book I am thinking of. The book I am thinking of is Missing Links. A fictional book about a bunch of degenerates at the shittiest golf course in America. The main character Stick, and some of his friends, including my favorite character 2 downs. It is followed by a sequel, Shanks for Nothing which is just as good as the original, maybe even better. For all of you golfers who are stuck in the cold and missing golf, I would highly recommend both of these books. P.S. I read two years ago that the movie rights had been bought for these books. I also read that Steve Carrell had said he wanted to play the main character Stick. I believe that was fake news though, but hopefully if more people read it I can bring back the charge. Editors Note: This is one of the finest golf men I have ever worked with. He has seen it all, played the mini tours, worked every golf job in the US. He hasn't missed a fairway since 93, and hasn't missed a meal since way before then. He is an outstanding, but we'll call it old fashioned man with some FIRE takes. His views do not necessarily match with my own. Women should absolutely not play with the men
by No Gimme Jimmy I saw the article online about the LPGA tour and PGA tour possibly joining up for a tournament, then I saw what my boy posted on this here blog. Frankly he is a fucking idiot. Are the women going to be playing from the men's tees? It is sexist to give them their own tees. Are the women going to qualify on the very much less superior tour? SO we are going to take a women who wouldn't even crack the top 10,000 on the men's tour rankings? No thank you. Iwt is not the PGA's job to get the LPGA tour rankings. They play their own tees, fuck at age 70 I could still shoot 68 playing from the ladies tees. It's like playing a pitch and put course. I admire the shit out of some of the ladies, and they are excellent, FUCKING EXCELLENT at their craft. But it is not the same craft as what the men are doing on the PGA tour. Unless the ladies are playing the men's tees, there is absolutely no way this should be happening. Quick Improvements to the LPGA tour (I'm not saying this is actually what they should do, but I know what people want, and this would absolutely improve ratings. It is absolutely sexist, but it will also make you more money so you make the choice. 1. All women should be golfing in bathing suits 2. Make the course incredibly hard so these girls aren't breaking 100, and it looks more like the everyday golfer 3. Less asians P.S. (Yes I know I am an ass, make sure to tell @caddy_yard just how big of a fucking asshole I am. PEACE) This will be quick as I am exhausted, but I made a promise to give the people some golf winners. I'm trying to grow the game by making people money gambling on golf. Go me
(Lets be honest Jordan Spieth is going to win the tournament but oh well, gotta take our shots) Winner bets Chris Kirk 50-1 Daniel Berger 35-1 Gary Woodland 44-1 Jimmy Walker 25-1 Brandt Snedeker 30-1 Paul Casey 28-1 Longshot Winners Henrik Norlander 200-1 Hideto Tanihara 600-1 1st Round Longshots Keegan Bradley 65-1 Wesley Bryan 100-1 CT Phan 100-1 Jerry Kelly 95-1 Matchup bet of the week Hudson Swafford OVER Luke List The Sony Open at Waialue Country Club, in Honolulu Hawaii. The real first full field tournament on the PGA tour, and although it is an easy course, it is not anywhere close to as easy as last week. The fairways are half the size of last week, so driving accuracy will be important. Last year Fabian Gomez beat out Brandt Snedeker after a very impressive 62 in the final round. Lets get to some picks. This week in cash games you must own Jordan Spieth or Hideki Matsuyama. Spieth is 6-1 to win the tournament, and after his final three rounds last week he looks ready to go. Hideki Matsuyama is 7-1 and now has won 4 of his last 6 tournaments and the other two are second places to Justin Thomas. The next lowest odds is Justin Thomas at 15-1 so I think you are going to have to own one of them. I prefer Spieth in this format, based on how he played last week. I also prefer him a little over Matsuyama. Matsuyama has played here 4 times, and never made the cut. I still like him this week but I prefer Spieth over Matsuyama, in cash and GPP. In the next tier I love two guys in cash and GPP, and you can choose how to manage them but Jimmy Walker and Brandt Snedeker. Both played decent last week, and both have done very well at this tournament in the past. If you read my betting column which comes out later today, both of them are in it. (I got a few complaints that I was giving to many guys, so I am going to try to just give you my favorite because people aren't making as many lineups as me.) Some Other Cash Game players you must own Charles Howell 3 will be one of the highest owned players in the whole tournament, but he loves this course and I think he is a must play in cash. Chris Kirk Zach Johnson Russell Henley Daniel Berger Marc Leishmann (My favorite stats golfer of all time, and he owes me after a shitty last year) Kevin Na CT Pan (love this dudes game) Some GPP players you must own (I am going to give you some longshots for GPP, in GPP we are trying to take some risks and win the whole thing. If you are trying to grind out a small profit, go cash games.) youtu.be/y4usE2RePqo Gary Woodland Paul Casey Daniel Berger Scott Piercy Keegan Bradley Kevin Kisner Longshots Henrik Norlander (Value play of the day) Jerry Kelly Webb Simpson Wesly Bryan Ct Pan So this article came out two days ago and I had a couple of thoughts on it. http://www.golf.com/tour-and-news/tournament-champions-could-feature-both-pga-and-lpga-tour-winners I am a big fan of growing the game of golf, for men and women. I don't want this to come across as I am some sort of feminist, or even the opposite, a Donald Trump-like person who objectifies women. I just want to give you an honest opinion on this. I fucking love this idea. I think this idea would be awesome for the game of golf in general. The LPGA tour, whether or not we want to admit it, is struggling mightily. People really don't care about it, and the LPGA tour is being left behind the PGA tour. Here's one example, https://youtu.be/K-bBj9Zynug (copy and paste into url) How many girls do you know in high school or college that play golf. In high school I knew one girl who golfed in my school. She was on my team, and was actually pretty good. In our league there was only one other girl on another team. It was actually awesome because, we would just fuck with the womens tees as she would shoot a low score playing the easiest course of all time. She was okay though, never really won a huge tournament for girls but was solid in the area. I remember a divison one scout came to one of our matches, and she was paired with me because we were the only two players who had any legit talent. She shot 49 on 9 holes. She got a division 1 full ride scholarship to that school. There are so few girl golfers, so if you are a girl and can play at all, you will probably get a D1 scholarship. If I have a daughter, whether she likes it or not, she is playing golf so I don't have to pay for college. We need to grow the game so other girls will pick up the game. Not only for females though, the younger generation is not picking up golf. Young people really don't give a fuck about watching golf, unless it is the majors. If you pair th men and women together, and get all the tees so it is even I believe people will watch that. At least they will at first, and if girls see women playing the guys I believe that they may want to learn the game. The one thing I hate about going to the golf course, there aren't many things, but when I get drunk after my round, it is basically a gigantic sausage fest. The only ladies at the golf course are old ladies, or they are already taken. If there were a bunch of hot females at the course, more males would come to the course. Boom the game is grown. This idea is a winner, and maybe the guys see this and think golf is actually cool and not for the nerds like it is now. P.S. I believe they could expand after this. Add girls to the ryder cup, go battle of the sexes. Start a new presidents cup, with men and women. Just merge the two tours, fuck it equality.
P.P.S. The caddymaster from my old course has an opinion on this. I told him to write something on it and I'll throw it on the site. I am warning you now so you don't yell at me because he is very old fashioned, a YUGEEEEEEE Trump supporter. Great guy, but his world views could use some changing. Sneak preview of his blog, "why do the broads even play. To get television ratings they shou'd just play in bras and panties. That would drive ratings." (hes not wrong on that last part) (First off I need a name for this section Every week I am going to try to give out some winners with the Caddyyard stamp of approval. So far all we have come up with is cash corner, and to put it lightly I hate that name. So tweet me @caddy_yard if you have some good suggestions. Free prize if we use your name) As I put in the DFS blog we got week one of the PGA tour season. Most golfers are getting done with their vacation, or continuing their vacation in Hawaii however you want to look at it. I have scoured over the board for some winners, but with it being the beginning of the season it is tough to predict who will be playing well and have stats to back it up. Usually I ill load up with matchup bets because that is where the money is, but here in week 1 I really don't want to come ourr to hot and put myself into a hole. I do have a couple of bets to throw in because as you know I am a degenerate, and I am sure if you are reading this you are too. I will be super transparent with you, I don't think any pf these bets are winners, but I think their are some value in them, and if we hit we are looking at a lot of money to play with so here we go. I will be betting half of what I normally would put on for win, and 1st round leader bets. I usually bet $10 on each but this week with the incertaintly I will only be firing $5. Adjust accordingly To Win the Tournament Vaughn Taylor 150-1 (Good history, and he always finds one time to shock the world, why not this week) Jim Herman 220-1 (Put on your MAGA hats and ride Trump to another victory) Aaron Baddeley 90-1 (He never has any idea where is drives are going, at this couorse that doesn't matter) Pat Perez 70-1 (Dude is a stud when he doesn't lose his temper, and how could he lose his temper in Hawaii?) Fabian Gomez 85-1 (Dominated Hawaii last year, maybe it can continue?) Brandon Grace 40-1 (He was around 15-1 in all majors last year, just pure value on an extremely talented golfer) Russel Knox 33-1 (Always love a ball striker, might be betting him all year so be ready) Jimmy Walker 33-1 (Early year dominater who now has a major unde his belt) 1st Round Leader (These are my favorite bets, maybe these guys don;t have the stones to win the whole thing but collect your winnings after day 1 and move on) Jim Herman 80-1 Vaughn Taylor 66-1 Aaron Baddeley 60-1 Fabian Gomez 50-1 Jimmy Walker 25-1 Brandon Grace 33-1 Will McGirt 50-1 Good luck!!!!!! (Tiger's not playing but if this picture doesn't get you pumped up for the golf season, then you don't have a pulse) Prime time golf, and the first tournament of the year. NFL playoffs this weekend rolled into the the tournament of champions. All (most) of the winners from last year all ready to tee it up at Kapalua. There's some money to be made out there so lets go out and get it. This preview will be short and sweet, as I will use this week mainly to scout at the players and ease myself back into golf. Since I am spending my first Winter in the cold in a long time, I don't quite have the golfing itch so hopefully this weekend will put me back into it. The Plantation Golf course at Kapalua resort in Maui, Hawaii. Does it get any better than that? (Also, maybe it is just because racism is in the news so much, but whenever I hear the Plantation golf course I think it is racist. If I was PC I would fight for the name change but I am not) Last year, Jordan Spieth won at 30 under par. It is the easiest course that they will play on tour all year. The fairways are GIGANTIC, the biggest ones you will see all year where I even think the 20 handicapper reading this blog could hit the fairway. It is a long golf course on paper, but because of the undulation, and everything going downhill it is really not that long. It is supposed to be a little wet, so I believe although you do not need to be, bombers may have a little advantage. There is no cut so take that into effect. It is a smaller field, and early in the year so I recomend cutting back and only putting in a couple lineups and bets. Just enough to wet the beak, but not enought to actually hurt yourself this early in the year. Lets get it. There are 4 top guys in there, and it is tough to pick between them. You will probably need the winner in your lineup so if on of these guys wins, and you don;t have them, you will not make to much money. We can't roster them all though, so I am going to have to make a decision which will probably make me look stupid as fuck. I am going to fade Dustin Johnson early, as I think he takes a little time to get the engines revved. Hideki Matsuyama, probably the highest owned this week is a good choice as all he does recently is win. Spieth, the defending champ has proven he can tear this course a new asshole. I also like Jason Day in GPP, he is a little riskier but I think he will be underowned and I think he has his swagger back. If you really want to try and cash for a ton of money and differentiate your lineup you can fade these guys and load your team with guys like Reed, and Snedeker, Berger. I don't love that idea but I will have a couple lineups trying that out. I love Jimmy Walker this week, because he bombs the ball, but sometimes has no idea where it is going. Well guess what, that doesn't matter this week so I think he will tear it up this week. Brandon Grace, I don't know how he will play this week but at that price, and how fucking good he is you gotta throw him in the lineups. Some of the lower end guys I like, are Perez and Kim. As we get a little lower down, I threw some fliers in for your lineups to go with your studs. Cody Gribble, the newbie is a flier, and I wouldn't use him in cash but GPP he looks decent. I LOVE Aaron Baddeley at this course, and he is one that will be getting a bet on him. Vaughn Taylor, reliving the glory days is another one I like. For cash, I think he will be extremely high owned but Gomez at 6600 should have a good week. Charlie Hoffman to round it out is another cheap guy I like if you are looking for fliers. I know this blog went all over the place, but fuck editing it I am putting it out like this.
(I will have a short one that isn't for DFS but strictly bets, so if you don't like draftkings we can still have a little action on the tourny. Believe me, after you get hammered on the NFL betting you will want these winners on the PGA.) I wanted to get a quick blog up to let our faithful 4 (maybe 3 readers) know what is going on with this blog. The PGA tour season is starting up again this week, so I figured this was a good time to make my decision. If you follow the twitter account, I said I was going to be done with the blog. I have been actually approached by an old member at one of the clubs I worked at, and will be writing a book with behind the scenes stories. I figured because I had that going on, I would shut down this blog. That is, until I checked the stats and saw how many people actually read this blog. I was shocked by all the morons that actually clicked this blog, and figured I would continue the writing. As we move into the new year, I want to give more tips for the weekend warrior. Think of me as your online golf pro, someone who doesn't rape your wallet with charges, but yet gives you information that you can actually understand. I am going to bring you some Draftkings and PGA information, to make your wallets fatter. (hopefully) Degenerate tips from a degenerate gambler, pretty much exactly what you need. If you want hard hitting journalism, well written articles with good spelling and punctuation, you are in the wrong place. If you want to laugh a little, make some extra money and hopefully shave a couple strokes off your handicap, then you are in the right space. The blog will be updated a couple times each week, and hopefully I can make it a little more of a professional operation. Some of my friends in the golf industry have expressed interest in sharing some of their knowledge so keep an eye out for that. To a good 2017, I'll see everyone out there.
